Demographic and Career Trends of Expatriate Student Affairs Professionals

Career opportunities for U.S.-educated student affairs professionals to work outside of the U.S. in have become increasingly available over past two decades. The purpose this study was determine demographics expatriate and their motivations abroad, which remains a unique experience landscape professional experiences. Using national recruitment approach social media, networks, snowball sampling, 43 self-initiated participated survey abroad. Results include personal educational backgrounds respondents as well information about institutional types, locations, level positions experiences results indicate that desire new experience, adventure, an enhancement career prospects were main reasons seeking Implications future research development support are provided.
